Policy and Administrative Procedures

Boards of education (board) have a positive duty under The Education Act, 1995 to create policies. All board policies and administrative procedures are public documents and must be available to the public.

Auditor’s Report and Financial Statement

These documents, once in final form are public documents are become accessible to the public. In addition, The Education Act, 1995 specifically provides that the board must send a copy of the previous year’s auditor’s report and the financial statement of the school division to the council of every municipality located within the school division. The board must also present copies to each school community council not less than 14 days before the annual meeting of the board.
