Disclosure of Scholarships and Awards
The names of winners of awards or scholarships are personal information and are subject to the provisions of LAFOIP.
In some cases the consents for disclosure of information completed when students are registered will cover the release of information for awards purposes. If it does not then specific written consent will need to be obtained.
In the case of specific awards and scholarships that may be administered by the school on behalf of third parties the application form filled in by the student could state that one of the conditions of winning is that the name of the winner will be published. The application of the student will then act as consent for the publication.
